Hickory Lawn Dairy of Cascade, Wisconsin, has been milking its 720 cows with 12 Lely Astronaut A5 robotic milking systems since May of 2019. Since installation, the dairy's team has seen improvements in overall cow welfare. With the help of the Lely MQC-C, the operation has been able to maintain a low average somatic cell count (SCC) of 60,000. The team has also seen an increase in milk production and have reduced their cull rate by 15%. The dairy's employees are also happier with their reduced labor requirements and flexibility in their day-to-day schedules. Check out this week's Coffee Talk with Jeremy Schmidt to learn more about how Lely robots have impacted his large operation!
