The Langes of Garnavillo, Iowa, currently feed 75 calves with the Lely Calm automatic calf feeder. This machine has given Leah and her husband the ability to maintain a large group of calves even with full-time jobs. The calves have the ability to nurse up to eight times per day and can drink up to eight liters per day with the automatic calf feeding system. At weaning, they weigh approximately 200 lbs and eat approximately 5 lbs of grain.
